The Invisalign Teen system, an alternative to traditional braces, is a set of customized clear aligners that are removable for eating, brushing, and flossing. It’s easy to remove them for photos or special events. Invisalign straightens smiles in a less obtrusive way. No wires or brackets are involved. They are also more comfortable than traditional braces.
So, how are they so customized? At Fishbein Orthodontics, we digitally scan the teeth and structure of the bite with our state-of-the-art iTero digital scanning system. This 3-dimensional scan is a very accurate digital model of the teeth and helps determine the most efficient and effective orthodontic treatment plan. Dr. Ben Fishbein can show the patient and thier family a digital plan of tooth movement and smile perfection. We now have a digital model and plan for your teen’s smile. Now what? Well, the Fishbein Orthodontics team produces a set of clear aligners and each is worn for about two weeks. The teeth will gradually move with each set and the average number of aligners needed is between 18 and 30. The total treatment then averages 6 to 15 months depending on the case. Visits to Fishbein Orthodontics will be every 7 to 10 weeks and are usually 30 minutes or less.
What else do we want parents to know? How about this? We offer free replacement Invisalign Trays (up to 6) if your teen loses or damages them beyond effectiveness. Additionally, if Invisalign Teen does not work for any reason, you may change to clear braces at no additional cost!
Invisalign Teen also includes what are called compliance indicator tabs. These colored tabs indicate whether the patient is wearing their trays like they are supposed to. They fade with use and make patients more compliant to use the product.
